Cristina Ghafari was born and raised in New York, of Portuguese descent. She now lives with her family in Lebanon. She loves spending her summers in Portugal in her family home and experiencing with her children true organic living. Eating fresh from the garden and watching the fish be netted from the ocean as you wait in line to buy it. She has participated in the making of the book Soup for Syria by cooking and distributing soups on a weekly basis to the homeless and displaced near her home. She visits the refugee camps and distributes contributions of medical supplies, clothing and foodstuff. She is passionate about giving back what you can to those less fortunate. She is currently working on a project with her husband in Portugal and she hopes to tend to her garden some day as her parents now do.
